Jakarta, 30 November 2023 – Despite the challenging world nickel market conditions, PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk., or Harita Nickel and its subsidiaries ("Company") (ticker code: NCKL), managed to record a high increase in Sales and Profit Attributable to Owners of the Parent Company in the first nine months of 2023.NCKL is an integrated nickel mining and downstream Company that has upstream and downstream capabilities on Obi Island, South Halmahera North Maluku. In the 9M 2023 period, NCKL posted Sales of IDR 17.3 trillion, up 135% compared to IDR 7.4 trillion in the 9M 2022 period. Apart from that, the Company was also able to record and increased in Profit Attributable to Owners of the Parent Company of 24% to IDR 4.5 trillion from IDR 3.6 trillion in the previous period.The significant increase in sales is the result of the Company's efforts to continuously expand production capacity from mining business line, High Pressure Acid Leach ("HPAL") refinery production and the Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace ("RKEF") smelter production line in the last 2 years.An additional Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (“MHP”) production line with a capacity of 18,000 tons contained nickel/year which has been completed by one of the Company's subsidiaries, namely PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (PT HPL), has successfully carried out commercial production since early 2023 and managed to reach full production capacity in just 2 months. So, the total installed capacity of the three production lines owned by PT HPL currently has an installed capacity of 55,000 tons contained nickel/year.Apart from that, another subsidiary, namely PT Harita Jayaraya Feronikel (PT HJF), which has eight production lines, has also been operating in stages since the beginning of 2023 and since August 2023, all of PT HJF's production lines have been running at full capacity. PT HJF has a Ferronickel production capacity of up to 95,000 tons contained nickel/year.&nbsp;From the mining business, the Company recorded a significant increase in nickel ore production to meet additional demand due to an increase in production capacity from both PT HPL and PT HJF. During the 9M 2023 period, NCKL's mining subsidiary has produced around 10 million nickel limonite ores and 4.4 million nickel saprolite ores.<img alt="Produksi tambang" src="https://api.tbpnickel.com/storage/images/old/news_assets/produksi-tambang.png" style="display: block; margin: auto;" title="Produksi tambang">From the HPAL refinery production line, since the addition of one production line, the Company recorded an increase in MHP production of 49% compared to the previous year's period, namely to 46,891 tons contained nickel. Some of the MHP products that are produced are converted into Nickel Sulfate and Cobalt Sulfate, which are the main raw materials for making ternary precursors, which are needed in making nickel-based electric vehicle batteries. During the first nine months of 2023, the Company through its subsidiaries has produced 9,287 tons of Nickel Sulfate and 818 tons of Cobalt Sulfate.<img alt="Produksi refinery hpal" src="https://api.tbpnickel.com/storage/images/old/news_assets/produksi-refinery-hpal.png" style="display: block; margin: auto;" title="Produksi refinery hpal">From the RKEF smelter production line, the Company through its 2 subsidiaries, namely PT HJF and PT MSP, succeeded in recording total Ferronickel production in the first nine months of 2023 of 68,994 tons contained nickel or an increase of 268% from the previous year. In the 9M23 period, PT HJF recorded a ferronickel production volume of 47,963 tons contained nickel. Meanwhile, PT Megah Surya Pertiwi ("MSP") posted a production volume of 21,031 tons contained nickel in the nine months of 2023.<img alt="Produksi smelter rkef" src="https://api.tbpnickel.com/storage/images/old/news_assets/produksi-smelter-rkef.png" style="display: block; margin: auto;" title="Produksi smelter rkef">From financial aspect, even though market conditions were full of challenges due to the decline in nickel prices on the world market, the Company managed to record a gross profit of IDR 6.1 trillion, or an increase of 63% compared to IDR 3.8 trillion in the first nine months of 2022. By continuing to innovate and be efficient in the Company's operations, Operating Profit increased by 59% to IDR 5.4 trillion from IDR 3.4 trillion in the first nine months of the previous year. Meanwhile, Profit for the current period even increased by 60% to IDR 5.7 trillion from IDR 3.5 trillion for the same period in the previous year.The Company was also able to record Net Profit for the owners of the parent entity of IDR 1.7 trillion in the third quarter of 2023, up 25% compared to IDR 1.5 trillion for the same period in the previous year. In the first nine months of 2023, the Company recorded a net profit for owners of the parent entity of IDR 4.5 trillion or an increase of 24% compared to the same period last year.&nbsp;With the continued development of the electric vehicle industry globally and the Government's plans to become one of the largest electric car battery producers in the world, the Company, with the spirit of "from Obi for Indonesia", is committed to continuing to invest and build production facilities that can increase volume and added value from the products that are produced by the Company.&nbsp;Currently, the Company is carrying out further expansion by building a second HPAL facility through a subsidiary, namely PT Obi Nickel Cobalt (ONC), which is targeted to have 3 (three) production lines with a production capacity of 65,000 tons contained nickel/year MHP and is expected to operate in stages starting in the second quarter of 2024.The Company is also planning further expansion for the RKEF production line through an associated entity, namely PT Karunia Permai Sentosa (KPS), which is targeted to have 12 production lines with a production capacity of 185,000 tons contained nickel/year (ferronickel) and is expected to operate in stages starting in the second semester of 2025.&nbsp;In terms of sustainability, the Company will continue to be committed to carrying out sustainable integration in business processes, involvement and development of local communities, and the environment. The Company will also continue to carry out consultations and discussions with relevant Stakeholders and Customers regarding the implementation of ESG standards and certification that will be implemented in the industry.&nbsp;

​NCKL Succesfully Recorded an Increase in Sales and Profit Attributable to Owners of the Parent Company in a Challenging Market Conditions   ​

Jakarta, 30 November 2023 – <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harita Nickel</a>, the largest integrated nickel company in Indonesia, acquired 99% of the shares in <a href="https://tbpnickel.com/about-us/subsidiaries/mining" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PT Gane Tambang Sentosa (“GTS”)</a> located on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku. This acquisition with a transaction value of IDR 7.9 billion will increase nickel ore resources and reserves to 302 million wmt, making Harita Nickel the 5th largest nickel mining company in Indonesia based on resources.
PT GTS has a non-operating nickel mining concession with an area of 2,314 hectares with an IUP valid until 2040. The Company plans to carry out drilling activities to determine the size of nickel ore reserves and resources.
At the same time, Harita Nickel also increased its share ownership in PT Gane Permai Sentosa ("GPS") from 70% to 99%. Apart from being able to increase the Company's nickel ore resources and reserves, this acquisition worth IDR 48.8 billion is expected to strengthen the financial contribution to the Company.
At the end of November 2023, the Company has estimated nickel ore reserves of around 302 million wmt. By carrying out further exploration at the 4 mines owned, namely PT Obi Anugerah Mineral, PT Jikodolong Mega Pertiwi, PT Karya Tambang Sentosa, and PT Gane Tambang Sentosa, the nickel ore reserves needed by the Harita Nickel subsidiary will increase.
PT GTS and PT GPS are affiliated companies of Harita Nickel. Harita Nickel Will Become the 5th Largest Nickel Mining Company in Indonesia After Acquiring PT Gane Tambang Sentosa

Jakarta, June 16th, 2023 - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), through its associated entity, PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (PT HPL), officially made its initial export of nickel sulphate today, Friday, June 16th, 2023. A total of 5,584 tons of nickel sulphate, packaged in 290 containers, is ready to be shipped to one of NCKL's business partners in China. This marks a significant milestone for NCKL in the nickel downstream business.
The refined nickel sulphate on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku Province, will be used in the production of high-nickel lithium batteries. The use of these lithium batteries is expected to continue to rise in the future, particularly in the electric vehicle industry.
 
NCKL's President Director, Roy A. Arfandy, stated that the total shipment of nickel sulphate is targeted to reach 240,000 tons per year, in line with the factory's production capacity. The company is also currently in the trial production phase of cobalt sulphate. “Moving forward, the company will strive to send approximately four ships to meet the targeted demand for nickel sulphate production,” said Roy.
 
Roy also expressed his appreciation for the achievement of this initial nickel sulphate shipment. “This is the work of us in Eastern Indonesia, which is an important step for Indonesia to become a key player in the electric vehicle battery industry in the future, as well as a new contributor to the export of downstream nickel products that can drive regional and national economies.”
 
PT Halmahera Persada Lygend recently inaugurated the operation of the first nickel sulphate plant in Indonesia, also the largest in the world in terms of production capacity, on May 31st. This historic moment was attended and inaugurated by the Deputy for Investment and Mining Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Septian Hario Seto.
 
In his speech last May, Seto conveyed that this achievement is impressive and extraordinary, demonstrating how local and foreign investors can collaborate effectively. “The mining and downstream operations carried out by NCKL are among the best. This was revealed by international consultants who can certify the mining and production processes,” said Seto. It is known that Seto's visit to the Obi Island site operated by NCKL at the end of May was accompanied by Benchmark Mineral Intelligence (BMI) consultants.
 
Currently, NCKL continues to strive to enhance the nickel resource industry value chain by producing cobalt sulphate. Alongside nickel sulphate, this concentrate is a crucial element in the formation of cathode precursors for electric vehicle batteries. “Being a manufacturing company of new energy materials that prioritizes environmental management, community empowerment, and contributes to the development of the industry is our medium-term target,” concluded Roy.

Proud Moment! Indonesia's First Nickel Sulphate Exporting Today

SOUTH HALMAHERA, May 31, 2023 — Harita Nickel, through its business unit PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (PT HPL), a business affiliate of PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), has once again become a pioneer in the nickel downstream industry by inaugurating the first nickel sulfate production operation in Indonesia, which is also the largest in the world. The inauguration of the nickel sulfate production operation, with a capacity of 240 thousand tons per year, took place in the operational area of Harita Nickel on Obi Island, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023. Nickel sulfate is a primary material used in the production of cathode precursors for electric vehicle batteries.
The inauguration of the nickel sulfate production operation was marked by the unveiling of a plaque, with the signing ceremony conducted by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, represented by the Deputy for Investment and Mining Coordination, Septian Hario Seto. This was followed by an inspection of the nickel sulfate production operations at the PT HPL plant, which utilizes High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) technology. Present at the inauguration event were the Regent of South Halmahera, Usman Sidik, as well as the management team of Harita Group and Lygend Resources Technology Co. Ltd.
In his speech, Tonny H. Gultom, the Director of PT Halmahera Persada Lygend, stated that Harita Nickel, in collaboration with Lygend Resources Technology Co., Ltd, has once again made a new milestone after producing Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP) as a raw material for electric vehicle batteries in June 2021, thus becoming a pioneer in the industry in Indonesia. “Today, we have achieved yet a new historic milestone, where all of you will witness the inauguration of the nickel sulfate (NiSO4.6H2O) plant, which is also produced by PT Halmahera Persada Lygend,” Tonny said.
Tonny claims that the nickel sulfate plant established on Obi Island will be the first of its kind in Indonesia and the largest in the world in terms of production capacity. “In terms of NiSO4 production capacity, the company will continue to refine and increase its capacity to reach 240,000 metric tons per year with a nickel metal content of 54,000 tons per year, targeted to be achieved in mid-Q2 2023,” Tonny stated. The inaugural export of nickel sulfate is planned to take place in June 2023.
Tonny revealed that on the mineral-rich Obi Island, Harita Nickel has consistently built an integrated mining industry from upstream to downstream. Starting with mining activities in 2010 through PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk, Harita Nickel has embraced the government's mandate for downstream development. Since 2015, Harita Nickel has pursued downstream operations by processing high-grade nickel (saprolite) through PT Megah Surya Pertiwi, which operates 4 (four) ferronickel production lines.
“In 2018, we began to build downstream processing for low-grade limonite nickel, which had been treated as overburden, into Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate,” Tonny explained. This downstream industry officially commenced operations in June 2021 through the affiliate company PT Halmahera Persada Lygend. Furthermore, another subsidiary of Harita Nickel, PT Halmahera Jaya Feronikel (PT HJF), has completed the construction of a ferronickel smelter with 8 production lines in the first semester of 2023.
“This downstream development spirit is integrated into the form of a business roadmap, which until today, with pride and gratitude, hand in hand with our partner from Lygend Resources Technology Co., Ltd, has successfully reached a new milestone with the production of nickel sulfate,” Tonny emphasized.
On the other hand, Septian Hario Seto, the Deputy for Investment and Mining Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, stated that Harita Nickel's achievements were truly remarkable and historic. “We are repeating history from two years ago when we inaugurated the first HPAL plant together with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment. This is something to be proud of, as today we are inaugurating nickel sulfate, which is a derivative product of nickel that can be further processed into precursors,” said Septian. According to him, this success is highly impressive and exceptional as it demonstrates how local and foreign investors can collaborate effectively.
Septian added that the HPAL plant on Obi Island is one of the plants with excellent operational management. “If we look at HPAL plants worldwide, it takes years for them to ramp up their capacity, but here, with this new technology, we were able to increase the capacity within a few months,” he said. “We have also recently conducted an audit of the entire mining industry area, and Obi Island stands out as one of the best in terms of its management,” Septian explained.
Septian also advised that the good environmental management on Obi Island should continue. Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of contributing to the local community, implementing targeted CSR programs, and providing effective community assistance. “I believe this will create harmony and mutual understanding between the company and the community,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Zhang Bao Dong, the Director of PT Halmahera Persada Lygend and representative of Lygend Resources Technology Co., Ltd, expressed in his speech that Lygend is proud to collaborate with Harita Group and achieve the HPAL plant and its derivative, nickel sulfate.
“We sincerely hope that in the future, Harita and Lygend will collaborate to build downstream industries and create a sustainable economic impact,” said Zhang. He further expressed his commitment to continue constructive efforts in developing further downstream activities within the electric vehicle battery ecosystem originating from Obi Island.

Official! Indonesia has the first nickel sulfate factory in Indonesia and the largest in the world

Jakarta, May 24, 2023 - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), through its subsidiary PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (PT HPL), is ready to produce nickel sulfate. NCKL Corporate Secretary Franssoka Y Sumarwi said that the nickel sulfate plant located in Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku Province has now entering into a significant improvement or ramping up stage to reach full production capacity. This nickel sulfate plant is the first one in Indonesia and the largest in the world by production capacity.
"PT HPL has successfully produced battery grade nickel sulfate for the first time on March 25, 2023. We are very grateful as this is a new milestone achievement in new energy resources in Indonesia," Franssoka said. 
Indonesia will be listed as a producer of raw materials for electric vehicle battery cathode precursors and its position in the electric vehicle battery industry map will be more prestigious. Franssoka further revealed that NCKL continues to refine and increase its production until reaching a total production capacity of 240 thousand metric tons (MT) of nickel sulfate per year which is expected in mid-2023.

The company, which previously pioneered in producing a mixture of nickel and cobalt, Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP) in 2021, is not only producing nickel sulfate. The downstreaming and refining of MHP will also produce cobalt sulfate (CoSO4). Nickel sulfate and cobalt sulfate are the core materials for making new energy source cathodes, namely electric vehicle batteries. 
"These two compounds are a real success example of conservation and mineral added value improvement, as they come from a low grade nickel ore or limonite processing and refining that previously could not be processed or became overburden. The right technology, namely High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) and a high work ethic make this possible," Franssoka added. 
PT HPL's production capacity allows the company to process and refine its entire MHP production into nickel sulfate and cobalt sulfate. However, by 2023, the NCKL subsidiary only plans to process around 50 percent of MHP into nickel sulfate. PT HPL is also exploring sales with several potential buyers and the first export of nickel sulfate is expected to be carried out in early June 2023. 
"In the future, the company will continue to improve its entire nickel resource industry chain, as well as become a new energy material manufacturing company that prioritizes environmental management and community empowerment and contributes to industrial development," Franssoka concluded.

First in Indonesia, NCKL Successfully Produces Electric Vehicle Battery Materials: Nickel Sulfate

Harita Nickel, a nickel mining and downstream company group, ensures its mining operations on Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku, are running in compliance with Decree of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (KEPMEN ESDM) Number 1827 of 2018 concerning Guidelines for Implementation of Good Mining Engineering Rules.
 
Harita Nickel Corporate Affairs Manager Anie Rahmi said, Harita Nickel's mining on Obi Island starts from land clearing, stripping top soil, removing overburden, taking limonite ore to be processed at HPAL plant.
 
Harita Nickel processes with hydrometallurgical technology, saprolite ore extraction to be processed with pyrometallurgical technology, mine pit closure, reclamation and revegetation.
 
"We are the first company to carry out mineral conservation which means reducing leftover rocks to be utilized as mineral resources for electric car battery raw materials," Anie said in a written statement Sunday (3/26/2023).
 
Anie also explained that the entire Harita Nickel area on Obi Island that has been operating is currently located in the Forest Area, both Production Forest (HP) and Conversion Production Forest (HPK). He ensured that Harita holds a Land Use Forests Permit (PPKH) for each land clearing.
 
People who have cultivated are given rope for the land as well as compensation for growing plants (GRTT) in accordance with Decree of the South Halmahera Regency Government.
 
"And it is not true what is alleged that the company occupies land through repressive actions and intimidation to residents, but through a transparent process and favorable payments to the community," Anie explained.
 
<h2>Remaining Nickel Processing Results
 </h2>
Anie also emphasized that there was no discharge of nickel ore into the water sources of Kawasi residents which caused sedimentation. PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (PT TBP), a subsidiary of Harita Nickel, has been placing the remaining nickel processing products into the former mining pit (Dry Stack). Dry Stack is considered a safe and environmentally friendly method that meets national and international standards.
 
The remaining processing products are not placed in Toduku River or Akelamo River, but in ex-mining land (mine out) in its dry tailings form in accordance with the Technical Approval and Operational Feasibility Letter (SLO) from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
 
Commencing operations in 2010, the company has obtained environmental permits and environmental management permits from the government. Later on November 17, 2020, the government designated Harita Nickel as a national strategic project.
 
"We also have obtained permits and technical approvals from the government for processing residuals or waste, where the residuals are initially controlled, and released to the environment in compliance with established quality standards, and periodically reported to the government," Anie said.
 
<h2>Conducting Routine Inspections</h2>
During its operation, the Company's waste management always receives regular inspections and supervision from the national, provincial and district governments.
 
The relevant government agencies for the environment and mining also conduct inspections and supervision from the national, provincial and district levels on the implementation of environmental monitoring and management activities.
 
The allegations of some parties that waste disposal pipes from the company's exploration activities allegedly lead to the sea, causing ecosystems and vulnerable fish to be contaminated with heavy metals are simply not true.

PULAU OBI, 18th October 2022 -- Harita Nickel officially operates the operation of PT&nbsp; Halmahera Jaya Ferronickel (PT HJF), a ferronickel smelter business unit located in the village&nbsp; of Kawasi, sub-district of Obi, Obi Island, South Halmahera, North Maluku, Tuesday (10/18).&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Head of External Relations of Harita Nickel Stevi Thomas said PT HJF is targeted to produce&nbsp; 780,000 metric tons of ferronickel per year. PT HJF's ferronickel smelter is planned to be in full&nbsp; production capacity by 2023.

Harita Nickel management, added Stevi, appreciated all the dedication and cooperation of PT HJF employees at this point. "We certainly have to cope with technical and non-technical&nbsp; challenges in the past three years. Such challenges however, have not been over yet. Only&nbsp; one line is operating whilst we still have 7 lines, we have to work hard. We expect all production&nbsp; lines will operate safely next year, " said Stevie.&nbsp;
Head of Technical Support Harita Nickel Rico Windy Albert confirmed that at this time, during&nbsp; the first production, the plant only operated one line of eight production lines. He further said&nbsp; the production target of the plant's several lines would be delivered in phases. It is planned&nbsp; that the operation of eight production lines of PT HJF will be performed in 1st semester of 2023.

Rico said the total manpower required during full operation of PT HJF is approx. 5,000&nbsp; workers. "Currently, with only one production line, PT HJF has employed 2,600 employees,"&nbsp; said Rico.&nbsp;
The manpower required to run the plant are from local workforces of South Halmahera in&nbsp; particular and generally from North Maluku. We conducted recruitment roadshow held in&nbsp; Labuha, South Halmahera and Laiwui village, sub-district of Obi, Obi Island. "About 65% of the&nbsp; hired workers are the origins of North Maluku," said Rico.
